I started this website when I was 12 years old, and it has been one of my favorite hobbies to do over the years. I love watching hockey, especially the Florida Panthers, and this website was an outlet for me to share my passion. I’m 22 years old now, and over the years, as I got busier and busier, I had less time to update this website, and keep posting. I also ran out of ideas. Now that I am entering Law School, I think it’s time to put this website to rest. For now, at least.
There are three main reasons for why I stopped posting on here. The biggest one is that I’ve run out of ideas. Everybody can make the same analysis posts for the Panthers, reviews of games, things they need to do, talk about new signings, etc. I just don’t like doing what everybody else does. I like having my own unique corner to come up with my own ideas, and honestly the ideas have dried up. That’s why I haven’t posted in nearly ten months. I can’t think of any original content to come up with to entertain my base of readers.
The second reason, which has become much more prevalent now is time. I just don’t have the time with school, taking care of myself, and maintaining my social relationships to frequently update this website. If I don’t have time, then if I do try to post some writing on here, it’s going to come out rushed and sloppy. I’m not somebody who likes to compromise the quality of their work for something quick and efficient. I’m not the person who will write 50 articles a month just to hit some quota, and get constant traffic to their site.
The final reason is that I’ve lost my passion for sports journalism. I still have passion for the Panthers, and I love watching them play, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that I love writing about them anymore. When I started, it was a labor of passion, something I loved doing. Over the past several years, it’s been more about just trying to justify the $20 a year spent on the domain name, instead of actually really having any passion for writing. I respect those who are truly passionate about sports journalism, and able to make a living off of it, but it’s just not the path for me.
Overall, thank you to everybody for reading this website. Each view, comment and like means a lot, and I’ve met some incredible people, and had some incredible opportunities through this website. Will I ever come back to writing on this website? Never say never, I usually strike whenever I get the inspiration. However, until that time comes, this is goodbye for now, and thank you for reading.
